Do you flinch every time you think of getting a facial; they usually cost a pretty sum! And yet every girl needs to exfoliate every so often for that soft baby skin. So why not try this home beauty treatment with ingredients that are probably on hand in your kitchen.
Some
of the ingredients that you probably already have and that make great exfoliants
include sugar, salt, oats, coffee and fruit. Sugar is less abrasive than salt
because it dissolves easily. Brown sugar is preferable for sensitive skin. Salt
exfoliates well as well and can help remove impurities and dead skin. Coffee
grinds are soft and are great at removing dead skin.
Today’s
recipe is a simple olive oil, honey and brown sugar scrub. It will both exfoliate
and moisturize your skin. For the moisturizer we’ll use olive oil (you could
substitute with coconut oil) which is a natural antibacterial and will not clog
your pores; as well as honey that contains powerful antioxidants and
antimicrobial properties.
You
need:
1. 3 tablespoons of olive oil
2. 2 tablespoons of honey
3. ½ cup of brown table sugar
4. Clean container
We’ll
make this in small batches so that it doesn't spoil. Alright lets do this:
a.
Add
the extra virgin oil to your container
b. Next add the honey
c.
Add
the sugar to the mixture
d. Stir well….and tadaa we're
done!!
So
to apply: first wash your face and then get a little scoop full and apply all
over face with your finger tips in circular motions. Avoid the eye areas and
apply more pressure to remove dead skin. Leave the scrub on face for one to two
minutes and then rinse it off. Pat face dry.
At
this point your face should be well moisturized but if you feel the need to do
so moisturize with your usual moisturizer.
Extras:
·
If
you have acne prone skin you can add some crushed pineapple
·
For
a puffy face, add cucumber to reduce on the puffiness
·
Tomato
is also good for it contains Lycopene that protects skin from UV rays.
This
scrub is fun and easy. Use once a week but for very sensitive skin use every 3
days.

sugar scrub.
